Eeek. Viewing unemployment stats from a gender perspective is apparently pretty scary. From the article:
Of the 1.3 million jobs created in the last 12 months, some 90 percent have gone to men, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Of course, men have lost more jobs than women during the current recession (4.9 million vs. 2.5 million, respectively), but the article points out that, while men are gaining jobs in the US, women are still losing them. Ouch!
