The Wall Street Journal reports that employers forsee an increased need for multi-lingual employees in the next 10 years. Based on results of a recent study,
“Demand for U.S. workers who speak foreign languages—especially Spanish and Chinese—should continue to grow over the next decade, but very few workers plan to study them.”
Personally, I know that my Spanish-speaking ability has helped given me the edge in my last two job searches.
If you’ve always wanted to learn a new language, perhaps now is the time to give it a try? It feels good to learn new skills, and it just might give you an advantage in your next interview!
