MintBlog reports the results from a 2007 job satisfaction study from the University of Chicago: Apparently the top ten jobs - rated by satisfaction of work - “are all relatively low paying, with long hours and plenty of stress.”

1. Clergy: salary $35,470 – $56,361
2. Firefighters: $28,486 – $52,139
3. Travel agents: $29,303 – $43,500
4. Mechanics and repairmen: hourly rate $15.05 – $22.17
5. Architects: median salary of $57,703
6. Special Education teachers: $34,286 – $50,338 for preschool through elementary teachers; $36,080 – $50,884 for middle school teachers
7. Actors and directors, salary varies greatly
8. Scientific researchers: $40,593 – $87,847
9. Industrial engineers: $51,417 – $71,512
10. Airline pilots and navigators: $47,110 – $128,229
My profession didn’t make the cut; for that matter, not a single healthcare profession was listed.
